South Orange Community Supports Art by Latvian Youth

with No Comments

Thank you, dear Anna Litvak, for creating an amazing event in support of kids from Latvia! 😊😊Thank you Walter Clarke for purchasing “The wings” painted by our kids under the supervision of our incredible art coach Ilze Preisa!🌹

The following is from Anna Litvak:

The 2017 Fundraising Event of The Art of Giving Project took place on Saturday, June 10th at the Wellness Lounge, South Orange. The fundraiser featured over 70 works of art made by disabled and orphaned children from Latvia. 100% of the money fundraised will return to those same young artists.

The event was hosted by South Orange residents, Anna Litvak and Enrique Biasotti, and was attended by approximately 80 people. Guests included staff members of the United Nations, South Orange and Maplewood Township and Essex County officials, artists, musicians and philanthropists.

The evening was filled with live music, great food provided by local restaurants: Boccone, South Mountain Tavern, Harusame and cookies from Cate and Abby’s. During the evening, guests participated in the silent auction on the beautiful art work made by Latvian children with more than a few items soliciting multiple bids. Latvian trivia was organized by Litvak’s family with trivia winners receiving prizes such as Latvian sprouts (smoked fish) and chocolate.

Born in Latvia, Litvak is one of the youngest Delegates in the history of the United Nations. The Art of Giving Project was conceived as a way to share the artwork of Latvian children while providing necessary funds which directly contribute to medicine, shoes, school supplies, beds, clothes, and orphanage repairs.
